Featured interview on implementing cloud-based PDM systems for distributed engineering teams, enabling 1st place at Formula Hybrid + Electric.
Hello! I'm Kelvin Cao 👋
I'm a mechanical engineering student at the University of Toronto, expected to graduate in 2026 (including PEY Co-op).
My passion lies in building and designing a wide array of projects—from Formula SAE racing cars to 3D-printed gadgets and personal homeservers. Whether it's thermal systems, CAD modeling, or programming, I'm always eager to learn new skills and expand my engineering toolkit.
I thrive on challenges that blend creativity with technical rigor, and I love bringing ideas to life through hands-on problem-solving.

From CAD designs to competition victories, here's my path in mechanical engineering
Currently pursuing my Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Toronto, where I've developed a strong foundation in engineering principles, design methodology, and practical problem-solving skills. Expected to graduate in 2026 with my PEY Co-op experience.
Leading the University of Toronto's FSAE Electric Drivetrain team for over 3 years, I've progressed from a first year member to Drivetrain Lead in my second year. My journey spans multiple years of innovation in electric vehicle design, thermal management, and systems integration for competitive racing.
Gained valuable industry experience through two co-op terms at leading aerospace and pharmaceutical companies, applying academic knowledge to real-world engineering challenges in manufacturing, quality control, and process optimization.
Beyond formal education and competition, I've completed over 30 projects spanning mechanical, thermal, electronics, and software engineering. From FSAE race cars to 3D-printed gadgets and personal homeservers, I pursue diverse challenges that blend creativity with technical rigor.
