Testing Radiator Characteristics

Radiator testing plays a vital role in optimizing thermal management systems. To effectively characterize radiator performance, I designed and implemented a custom test setup. This setup accurately assesses heat dissipation efficiency, pressure drop, and flow rates across various operating conditions, providing comprehensive insights into radiator capabilities.

Modifiable Parameters

  • Flow Rates: Adjustable between 0-12 L/min.
  • Water Temperature Range: Ambient to 70°C.
  • Pressure Drop Analysis: Real-time monitoring.
  • Air Flow Rate: Up to 10 m/s air velocity.

Test Outcomes

The radiator's performance was evaluated under various test conditions. This process involved operating the radiator at specified water flow rates and air velocities, gradually heating it to maximum temperatures, and then running the fan until a steady state was reached. Repeating this process multiple times provided valuable data on the radiator's behavior across different scenarios, enabling accurate performance characterization and alignment with radiator charts.
